Leveraging unique features of cellular metabolism in the disease process
Access to nutrients and subsequent metabolic shifts have an important role in cellular function and differentiation as well as in cell survival. By modulating dominating metabolic signatures of cells in the disease state, metabolic regulators can be applied to suppress disease progression. At ImmunoMet Therapeutics, we have been developing a series of small molecules in our Biguanide Engine targeting metabolic pathways of tumor and immuno-suppressive cells to control tumor growth and relapse, especially in difficult-to-treat patients. Our development program addresses the limitations of current cancer therapies and is designed to offer hope of long-term survival and quality of life for cancer patients.
